What I love about Nicole Gill are her spirit and attention to details. Nothing is overlooked: the theme, the signature, the story, the colors, the styles, the fabrics, and that special ‘touch’ she adds to everything she designs. Although each collection has a different theme, you can easily recognize her personal signature in each piece she creates.
It is no surprise that at the UK Lingerie Awards Nicole Gill was one of the finalists for ‘new designer of the year’ award. After having the opportunity to know her work better, it is instinctive to recognize (and desire) a piece by Nicole Gill from the first glance. And this is what makes her lingerie collections so special.
After the success of the Parisian Romance and Tea Party collections, it was only natural for Nicole Gill to want explore a new side of a woman’s soul: the Beautiful Sacrifice.
Beautiful Sacrifice collection is inspired by the tragic story of Kim, a vietnamese orphan, which many of you know from the Miss Saigon musical. The black silk and lace express the darker side of Kim’s sacrifice. The burgundy silk reveals the romantic side of her story. Combined together, they go perfect with the Asian trend we often find in the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections.
In my opinion, the new autumn collection is more daring and provocative than the previous two. The sweetness and delicacy are still there, but Beautiful Sacrifice is more about reflecting the unlimited inner power of a woman. This power is what makes us sexy and attractive. And yes, a strong woman has shapes and knows how to draw all the attention to her.
It was hard to choose my favorite designs from the new collection. They are all special, and very beautiful. Especially the 4 new front-closing, steel-boned corsets. But, in the end, I made my choice.
On top of my list is the Angelina girdle, with its sheer stretch panelling and the burgundy silk sides, with matching ruffle detailing (£88.00)*. Four garter straps are included.
From the Nightwear collection, I must list the Melody playsuit, all made of burgundy silk (£125)*.

The Audrina basque (£92.00)* got my attention from the first glance too. The cuts and the black lace panels make it a special piece. When worn with the Kristen briefs (£65.00)*, you have an irresistible combination.

As I mentioned above, all the corsets Nicole Gill creates are very special (they are the center pieces of every collection she has launched to date). With Beautiful Sacrifice she uses vintage patterns and shapes as late as the 1840s. But, they are also special because each order is handmade to your own measurements.
You can consider the Elena corset (£252.00)* a special jewel that once you have, you do not ever want to be apart from it. It is inspired from the styling of the late 1880s, all the way from the Louis XV’ line.
Beautiful Sacrifice: Elena Corset and Kristen Briefs
Although it is a different style (1901 ‘S’ curve), the Georgina corset is also very special (£228.00)*. It can be worn with any bra and brief style from this collection.
Beautiful Sacrifice: Georgina Corset and Hanna Shorts
And last, but not the least important on my list, are the Rebecca Girdle (£85)* and the Paige body (£85)*. Black silk panels and mesh, combined with the burgundy color of the brief and bra, go divine together.

The shot of this collection took place at the gardens of a castle in Birmingham. As always, the beautiful Charlotte Gill (Nicole’s sister) is the model.
*The prices listed are taken from Nicole’s Gill official e-store. Bella Bella Boutique (USA), had the last collection in store. We hope they will bring the new Nicole Gill – Beautiful Sacrifice collection in store soon.
