For those that are familiar with the Da Vinci Code Book & continued media coverage, there has been a lot of controversy based on the speculative truth regarding Mary Magdalene’s role not as a follower of Jesus but as Jesus’ wife, mother of his child and lead disciple. Speculative truth suggests there is a lineage of Jesus’ DNA living to this day.

In a method to keep women subordinate, the book suggests that Mary was not a prostitute but a strong, willful woman who came from a wealthy family. Feminist theological revisionists complain that Mary Magdalene has been deprived of her rightful place in Christian tradition and the Catholic church deliberately made these changes to keep women as the weaker sex without a voice.

The 2007 Collection was based on recreating famous scenes from the Bible with the purpose to evoke strong images of female empowerment.
