If you ask me, the classic “Great Gatsby” is a reference novel in American literature. In the 1920, the American society was prosperous and had a specific dynamism that F. Scott Fitzgerald depicted so fascinatingly in his magnum opus named ”Great Gatsby”.
It was about time that some lingerie creator focused on the fascinating world of the ’20s. La Perla did it, and did it well. The Roaring Collection is an exhibition of the roaring twenties, with the distinctive Art Nouveau patterned lace, feather embroiderred tulle, tuxedo details and fringing animal prints.
Most of all, I love how La Perla brought back the image of the „femme fatale”from the Great Gatsby parties, with spendid and mysterious women dressed in fascinating fabrics.
There is something about Art Nouveau. I believe it’s the sophisticated patterned garments in precious Leavers lace mixed with tulle that got my attention when I first laid eyes on this collection. To mainatin the delicacy specific to the ’20s fashion, La Perla added silk ribbons that create small criss-cross motifs with satin edges. Nice couture touch, right?
The innovation of The Roaring Collection comes with the Maribu feathers, as seductive as they appear to be in all the movies made in the ’20s. They look sensational in combination with the fringing that adds a frothy touch to bustiers and chiffon cami-knickers. But what really got me was the animal print that mimic the coat of a cheetah. Guilty as charged, I totally dig animal prints!
What about Chantilly lace? I believe you agree with me when I say this is one of the most precious details any lingerie can have. Scalloped edges in lighweight tulle and silk satin enhance the impalpability of this beautiful combination.
Lucky for me, all these blendings of fabrics and textures come in colors I love most: greige, fuchsia, green, Bordeaux and indigo blue.
Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to these shades, you can also pick a silk white chemise or natural/ greige knickers.
What can’t you do when standing in front of the breathtaking La Perla The Roaring Lingerie Collection? I’ll tell you! You can’t have enough! Wouldn’t you say?
