In a moment of pure honesty, I must say I never expected running into a lingerie designer that blends horror films and modern design with tokens of vintage aesthetics. I did want to discover a brand of this kind, but never thought would actually happen.

Then again, life is full of surprises. Hopeless Lingerie is the kind of brand I’ve been expecting all this time. Maybe it was their courage of gathering the old and the new all into one that swept me off my feet. I give proper credit to designers who manage to dazzle me instantly.

But enough with the praising.

What I most like about Hopeless is that it makes you feel like you’re the queen of good and evil, at the same time. Their latest collection, Mirror, is something almost overwhelming. It’s the perfect fitting for the special occasion of your honeymoon. Yes, this is the 2011 bridal collection that will make your husband-to-be go crazy.

You can never underestimate the importance of knickers. The high waisted Phoebe knickers are…how do I put this…blinding! The soft cream jersey is cutout on the sides and trimmed with black elastic. Being a bride is mostly connected to light colors, like white or cream. This collection allows you to break the rules and become the black swan, as all designs come also in black.

I like this year’s designs, such as this Athena bralette. What I see is soft cream bamboo jersey combined with edgy crossover straps. This is a fantastic combination of traditional romanticism with something hard and edgy. It’s quite daring and it looks just great under sheer outfits. Yes, I bought it and it’s unbelievable how this piece matches my personality.

But there was my soft side, saying how smooth and beautiful this white silk and lycra knickers are. The small velvet bow completes this look that your husband will be more than happy to enjoy.

What about camies, you may wonder. This Thalia cropped cami seems to be very appealing. It’s made of soft bamboo jersey and lycra chiffon. But they didn’t neglect the edgy detail, not at all. The velvet straps will make your breasts look beautiful and…playful. This cami is slightly elasticized for a perfect fitting.

Let me ask you, do you like straps? I hope you do, because this year’s collection offers the kinkiest and sexiest garter belt I’ve ever laid my eyes on. You look at this picture and all you see is straps. But the straps are made of soft white elastic. Talking about soft and hard, right? They also come in black, but I gotta say, in white this garter belt is the ultimate combination of romantic sweetness and sheer provocative evil.
