Honeys Lingerie Boutique Interview

Honeys Lingerie Boutique is the home of most exclusive designer lingerie (Fleur T, Madame V, Christies, Rosapois, Naori,  Sally Jones, Hot Milk, Girardi, etc), carefully chosen to embrace every woman’s desires. I had the opportunity to connect with them on Twitter and was so excited they accepted to answer several lingerie related questions, you can read below.

Honeys Lingerie won my heart. I hope they’ll win yours, too.

Tell me a bit about yourself and Honeys Lingerie Boutique (HLB). How did it all start?
It started with a dream as most businesses do. An already very busy mum wanting to find lingerie that would make her feel irresistible again, that would take her seamlessly from mother to lover without effort. Realising that for the majority of the day we are just too busy to take time out and go shopping, especially for something as personal as lingerie. Where dragging a child and a pushchair into the changing rooms of impersonal, harshly lit, unflattering department stores or squeezing through tiny isles of small boutiques, accidentally collecting hangers on the handles of the buggy as you push past. An online boutique, selling very special designer lingerie, for the modern day, multi-tasking woman just made sense. We’ve also made the natural progression to designer swimwear and nightwear – other items that are not so easily accessible in high street boutiques but that fit naturally with what we already offer. The business is growing rapidly and our customers regularly become our friends, returning to us month after month.

What makes HL stand out from the crowd?
Our passion for finding statement pieces that will fill your lingerie drawer with more than just knickers. Lingerie that you can show off in and enjoy, not just wear! We provide excellent customer service (editor’s note: I can vouch for this) by real people who you can talk to and call on for advice on style, shape, fit and trends.

Is there a lingerie trend?
At the moment the trend is certainly glamour, the burlesque dancers have brought lingerie to a different level, ladies are wearing things they would once have only had fantasies about – bustiers, waspies and Guepiere are all words we probably didn’t use much, say five years ago, now they are a wardrobe must have.

Old style glamour is also hugely fashionable at the moment with lingerie designers like Fleur T and Sally Jones using only the finest silks and leavers lace in their exquisite designs, making their lingerie not only beautiful but so comfortable.

Which of the lingerie pieces appeal most to women?
Without seeming too obvious – an every day bra. A beautiful bra made with silk and lace. Balcony bras with plunge appeal as they give dramatic effect. A lot of our customers also prefer a fuller brief or shortie.

Except from bras and panties, is there any other lingerie drawer “must”?
An exquisite piece of lingerie to make you feel special, perhaps a bodice, basque or waspie giving a great shape without being ‘shapewear’ and extremely sexy when the clothes come off!!!

We love the new style suspenders like Fleur T Ballerina suspender brief (with detachable suspenders) An exquisite silk brief when you’re not wearing stockings or you ladder them! A definite must have.

What’s your favorite piece from HLB?
Oh how can I answer this I can’t choose just one? My personal wardrobe favourite at the moment is the Christies With Love bustier. The current trend for tailored evening tuxedo style jackets with the bustier worn underneath as an outer garment rather than underwear is an amazing fashion partnership it even looks fabulous worn with jeans! Oh and I can’t live without my Fleur T balcony bra!!! The item I long to own is a Sally Jones Teddy!

If you could describe HLB in one word, what would that word be?
Irresistible!!!

Thank you so much for your time!

It’s great to see a new store that is so well represented both on and offline.
the website is so professionally done (I haven’t made it to the store yet), that some of the big names should be copying the style!
I am looking forward to browsing through their shelves very shortly…
