Guilty Pleasures

My name is Cathy van Hoang and I’ve been doing photography for about 10 years. My obsession with taking pictures probably stems from the fact that my own memory is poor and a bit random. I’ve always felt the overwhelming need to photographically capture things as I saw them so that I could hold on to them, or risk forgetting them.

I enjoy shooting things and settings that intrigue me, not necessarily because they are attractive, but because they warrant further inspection. I’m drawn to low light situations and prefer to shoot hand-held and without a flash. Saturated colors make me a happy girl.
