Although the art of lampworking has been practiced since ancient times (early lampworking was done in the flame of an oil lamp, with the artist blowing air into the flame through a pipe.), it became widely practiced in Murano, Italy in the 14th century. In the mid 19th century lampwork technique was extended to the production of paperweights, primarily in France, where it became a popular art form, still collected today.
Both the Christmas inspired bracelet and earrings in the set to be given as prize in the January contest are made with lampwork beads.
More images and a full description of what you’re going to get (if you win) can be found here.
Thank you, LazyBreeze, for reserving the set and having the patience to bear with me and my never-ending chats and questions. Check her store, as she has several amazing pieces on a budget.
Now, let’s go on. No contest is a contest without rules. The rules this month are none. As long as you leave a comment (you may tell me your favorite piece from LazyBreeze’s store, or why do you want to win, etc) and use a valid email when doing it, you’re in!
The contest ends on the 3rd of February, at midnight. One winner will get both the bracelet and earrings and that winner will be drawn with random.org
Good luck!

Very nice. The bracelet is particularly cute.
